Sgt Dunbar & the Hobo Banned
B3007
The Thing About Time delves into the nooks and crannies of time itself. This new release by Sgt Dunbar & the Hobo Banned is officially their third release, but the first to feature their current 7 piece onstage lineup. It features six multi-instrumentalists playing a style of psych-folk that has become synonymous with Sgt Dunbar, and vocalist Alex Muro using every inch of his vocal chords to relay to you an epiphany he stumbled upon.
Described as “a freight train of a band that will knock you down and help you up again before you hit the ground” and “a magical, music circus with accordion, saw, exuberance and wit”, Sgt Dunbar & the Hobo Banned have been narrowing in on a loose but purposeful multilayered sound over the years, and they have accomplished it here on the self-recorded and produced The Thing About Time.
Selected by Albany's Times Union as one of the best local albums of the year.

Sgt Dunbar's second full length cd is a collection of songs spanning time in two directions. With a surrealist juants to the bombing of berlin (1945), a flooding coal mine (1834), and to an east coast dream of the west coast, to tree top towers and the futures lovely flowers. The album is rife with allusion and self reference that tie the songs together into the artistic whole of an album. Its a collection of songs to pass the time til we reach the space age.

Sgt Dunbar and The Hobo BannedB3001
This album has been a project of the the Hobo Banned's Tim Koch for over a year now. Its an album that is theoretically the record of a performance of a medieval troubadour at a courtly ball. As the night progresses and the effects of the ale begin to make themselves known the travelling band of musicians begins to be weighed down by some of the sacrifices this lifestyle requires. The night ends with the realization that they are no longer the same people they were when they left their homes, families and friends.
